Dr. John H. Jones III
Born in Warrenton NC, Dr. John Jones III spent his early years in the cities of Portsmouth and Chesapeake, located in the Tidewater area of Virginia.
Dr. Jones earned his Bachelors of Science degree in 1972 from Purdue University. He continued his education at Howard University College of Dentistry where he earned his DDS. The following year he completed the General Dental Residency program at The National Institute of Mental Health at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Washington, D.C. He went on to complete his Orthodontic residency at Georgetown University. Dr. Jones has been practicing Orthodontics in Sterling, VA since 1993.
Dr. Jones is enthusiastic about providing quality orthodontic care to help create brilliant smiles and occlusions for each and every one of his patients. He believes that orthodontics changes lives, not just smiles. Because of that philosophy, Dr. Jones truly enjoys the interaction with his patients and their families.
Dr. Jones is a resident of Sterling, VA where he is an active supporter of the schools, his community, and his church. During dental health month, Dr. Jones does free dental exams at several elementary schools including Sterling Elementary school, Sterling Middle school and Park View High School. In 2003 he was awarded The Award of Excellence for Service for outstanding contributions to the children of Loudoun County by Loudoun County Public Schools. In his community, he sponsors several individuals and team sports each year. He has also provided dental treatment to the rural community in Pigon, Haiti.
Dr. Jones has two daughters, Sopheia and Sybil raised in Sterling, VA. His daughter Sopheia currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. While his daughter Sybil has recently relocated back to Sterling, Virginia as a new orthodontist.
Dr.Jones is a member of several professional organizations, including: The American Association of Orthodontists, The American Dental Association, The National Dental Association, The Old Dominion Dental Society, The Southern Association of Orthodontists and the Northern Virginia Orthodontic Study Club.
Dr. Jones is a charter member of the Omicron Kappa Kappa, chapter of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity incorporated. He is currently a member of the Sigma MUMU of Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. His personal interests include: tennis, music, traveling, running and is an avid auto enthusiast. He has participated in various running events in the metropolitan area including the Marine Corp Marathon.
Dr. Sybil R. Jones
DDS, MSD, MHS
Dr. Sybil R. Jones has always had an innate desire and interest in orthodontics! This was largely due to the positive influence of her father Dr. John H. Jones and the many hours she spent here at Jones Orthodontics as a child watching him and his interactions with patients. She was so inspired that she decided to follow in her father's footsteps and the rest is history!
A native of Northern VA, Dr. Sybil grew up here in Loudoun County and graduated from Park View High School. For her undergraduate education, Dr. Sybil attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then completed a Masters in Health Sciences at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. For Dr. Jones dental education she continued at Meharry Medical College and matriculated into the School of Dentistry to complete her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree. While in dental school, Dr. Sybil was very involved in community service and mentorship. She is very passionate about giving back to the underserved and is looking forward to serving her community in Northern Virginia.
Dr. Sybil continued her education at Case Western Reserve University completing her Masters of Science in Dentistry and obtaining a Certificate in Orthodontics.
In her free time Dr. Sybil enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling, fitness and learning new recipes to cook.
Dr. Sybil is ecstatic to be back home in Northern Virginia and is excited to continue the family legacy of creating healthy and beautiful smiles.
